Top of the table clash

Hibernians and Birkirkara meet on the 21st of March in what could be a title decider.

If Hibs win they will be a point above current leaders Birkirkara. Should Birkirkara win they will open a five point gap on second placed Hibernians.

The two have met twice already this season, in the Super Cup which Birkirkara won 3-2, a match in which Hibernians had twice been in front. Their first round league tie ended in a goalless draw.

Hibernians will be hoping to have Ylenia Carabott fully fit for this game, especially since her debut in the 9-0 walloping of Tarxien. Malta international Mandy Debono is another key player who may feature after missing the last two matches through injury.

In their last two games Hibs slipped up against Kirkop when they were held to a goalless draw but they made up for that with a 9-0 demolition of Tarxien.

Despite winning Birkirkara have not had an easy run of late. Against Raiders Luxol they had to wait until the 86th minute to score the only goal of the game and in their last game their first of three goals against Mgarr came in the 72nd minute.

An intriguing tie lies ahead then when the top two teams meet at the Charles Abela Stadium in Mosta on the 21st of March. Kick Off at 8:15pm.
