Hugo Vieira signs for Hibernians F.C.

We would like to announce the signing of 33 year old Portuguese forward Hugo Filipe da Costa Oliveira, also known as Hugo Vieira.

 

Born on 25th July, 1988, Hugo started his career at Santa Maria F.C. in Portugal and during that time he had short loan spells at Bordeaux B in France and Estoril in Portugal. In 2009, he joined Gil Vicente where he played 62 matches and scored 16 goals.

 

His performances with Gil Vicente, attracted the interest of Portuguese giants, SL Benfica and they signed him in 2012. He was then loaned to Sporting Gijon and again to Gil Vicente, before joining SC Braga. In season 2014-15, Hugo joined Russian Premier League side Torpedo Moscow, where in 20 matches he scored 3 goals.

 

Following that season, Hugo made the move to Serbian side Red Star Belgrade, where in the only season with the club in Belgrade, he made a total of 43 appearances and scored 27 goals, as the capital team went on to win their 27th league title in history.

 

Hugo Vieira’s career continued to impress, as in season 2017-18, he joined Japanese top club Yokohama F. Marinos, where he made 59 appearances and scored 23 goals. He then joined Sivasspor in the Turkish Super Lig. Recently, he had spells again with Gil Vicente and with Hokkaido Consadole in Japan and F.C. U Craiova in Romania.
